Abstrakt

The city of Los Angeles contains one of the largest Mexican-American populations in the United States. The Church claims a theology of communion of the saints which is exemplified in the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. However, it has not significantly crossed the cultural divide. This paper examines the understanding of two of these church communities, one Mexican-American and one Anglo-American, regarding the Lord's Supper. From this examination, the author presents learnings which may work toward a more appreciative approach to the differences between cultures recognizing the unity that already exists among all people of Christ.
