  • I have been inspired by The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola to create a Protestant, Christ-centered retreat manual. This retreat manual was designed to lead people into a deeper spirituality. The group that tested this out was comprised of volunteers from the church I pastor, the Fulton Alliance Church. The expectation of the retreat manual was to allow the retreatants to grow in the Lord as well as to serve him in the context of the local church. The retreat manual was divided into three sections: salvation, sanctification, and vocation. Section one was designed to give clarity to salvation. Section two was designed to lead to further present sanctification. Section three was designed to assist the retreatants in identifying and applying their unique vocation. Upon examining the results of those who participated in the application of the retreat manual, I concluded that this project was successful in attaining the previously mentioned goals.
