Abstrakt

Visionary leadership is desperately needed in the church today. The lack of a clearly defined vision statement by Christian leaders is a major contributing factor to plateaued or dying churches. A clear statement of vision provides a ministry with greater direction, unity, relevance, motivation, financial support, and valid education. Will a 3-month small group study using Malphurs's steps for building vision produce a clear and unified vision of ministry among the leadership of Warren Community Fellowship, as determined by using a pretest and posttest vehicle of measurement? Warren Community Fellowhship is a 5-year old, suburban, non-denominational community church with an average attendance of 400. The results were modestly successful, and demonstrated that visionary leadership may be more successful with a strong visionary point person.
