Abstrakt

This project provides a critical examination of extramarital involvement among clergymen in the context of psychological theory/practice and biblical theory. An attempt is made to ascertain contributing factors, or conditions in the clergyman's life often present during extramarital involvement. From these recurrent themes, inferences for prevention are drawn and discussed. The study concludes with a consideration of the need for the church to readdress the areas of sexual theology, forgiveness, and restoration of repentent and petitioning clergymen. Appendices are included containing self-help materials for ministers and functional as well as sample plans for clergy restoration.
