  • In 2004 Wolseley North America (WNA) was formed by Wolseley plc to serve as a support for their North American companies. While the original purpose of WNA was to serve a support function, it appeared that they soon operated with management authority. Professor John Kotter, author of Leading change and The heart of change, is often cited as an authority on corporate culture change. This paper researches the inception and implementation of WNA and analyses the implementation process in light of the eight steps of corporate change recommended by Kotter. Additionally, we look at Kotter's principles of change in comparison to the principles of change implemented by Nehemiah in the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem, as cited in the biblical account of Nehemiah.
