  • The thesis of this paper is that male and female equally bear the image of God but have different role functions designed by God in the creation order. Man is to be the head of the woman and she is to be in the position of submission. Her submission does not imply inferiority. The method of research consisted of reading books, journals, state papers and be ing aware of the the issue within the Southern Baptist Convention. The conclusion of this paper is that only men should serve in the role of pastor and if women become pastors they violate the clear teaching of scripture and reap serious consequences.
