  • The project addresses the flow of energy in decision-making in two church councils. The author intervened with Transactional Analysis to identify factors that inhibited or facilitated the flow of energy. Five hypotheses dealt with: 1) energizing ego states, 2) redirecting energy, 3) script decisions, 4) contracts, and 5) stroking. In simulated situation and regular council meetings, data were gathered and redirecting energy considered. Support was found that appropriately energized ego states facilitated decision-making, whereas inappropriately energized ego states inhibited decision-making. The project is designed to aid pastors and council members to use Transactional Analysis in freeing energy to enhance decision-making.
