Abstrakt

Collaborative preaching, as outlined in John McClure's book The roundtable pulpit: where preaching and leadership meet, is a helpful homiletical form for a pastor and congregation seeking spiritual growth and revitalization. Collaborative preaching is respectful of the unique gifts of the pastor, yet thrives on a diversity of views represented within the local church community. It is biblically based, it relies on the use of one's God-given intellect and strengthens the resolve of the local congregation to move into, rather than retreat from the world. This paper tells the story of how collaborative preaching was practiced in a New England congregation and how it can help pastors strengthen their preaching and leadership skills.
