Abstrakt

The writer began this study out of concern for the dominant emphasis which controls most of urban American ministry efforts today. The following three assumptions about the current state of urban American ministry have guided the writer in his research, analysis, and recommendations. Within the study and practice of urban American ministry there is a need for: defining properly the target audience; shifting the emphasis from a primarily social to a primarily Great Commission focus; and, challenging all minority American believers to adopt a world missions vision.
