Abstrakt

This ministry project was designed to develop and implement a program of discipleship for young adult men in the Unity Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville, North Carolina. Chapter 1 sets forth the goals, context, rationale, and research methodology for the project. Chapter 2 presents the biblical and theological basis for discipleship. This chapter is a study of the scriptural teachings regarding disciple making. Chapter 3 focuses on understanding and motivating adult learning; this is, how to maximize opportunities to teach and preach God's Word. Raymond J. Wlodkowski's Time Continuum Model of Motivation is discussed at length. Chapter 4 maps out the action plan for the discipleship project, with details about how the ministry project was implemented. Chapter 5 provides an evaluation of the project, both from the perspectives of the author and the participants, as well as an analysis of all the pretest and posttest data.
