- This project was designed to study burnout within instructors from three groups, Baptist General State Convention Congress of Christian Education, Greater New Era Baptist District Association of Chicago and Vicinity and Calvary Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois. The initial step was discovering if burnout existed and if so to what extent. Upon discovering its existence, the subsequent step was determining its’ symptoms, causes, effects and prevention methods. That information was used to develop a system of best practices whose goal was to identify, prevent, minimize or overcome this disorder. The sources of these objectives were three-fold. There were questionnaires and interviews from instructors within the groups. There was research from published authors. Additionally, applicable biblical passages were utilized. Each aspect of the research, symptoms, causes, effects and prevention included contributions from all three sources.
