  • The objective was to enable white members of Christ Episcopal Church, Dayton, Ohio, to become aware of the role of white privilege and white power in their lives. I conducted the first parish-based Refraiming the Dialogue on Racism in America program. The project was a five-week course on racism in which thirty-six parishioners participated. Methodology of the study included a survey, spiritual autobiographies, and interviews. Findings revealed that participants did become more conscious of their whiteness, privilege, and power. The interviews reflected the impact of the course upon participants' lives.
