  • Using religious coping theory and scales, this Doctor of Ministry's thesis is that six Bible studies would move some caregivers towards more helpful spiritual methods of coping 'to gain control' and 'to find meaning.' Specifically, some will move towards either a more 'collaborative religious coping' or more 'active surrender religious' coping style. The assumption is religious coping styles are more important than the frequency of any spiritual discipline. How caregivers use prayer is more important than the frequency of prayer.
