- This project addresses the educational needs of poor and oppressed African-American children by promoting an Afrocentric public educational model in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It reflects on national and local Black educational needs, lays a biblical and theological basis for Afrocentricity, discusses Dellabrook Presbyterian Church's history of mission and ministry. This project also uses focus groups to measure the potential for Afrocentric public education. This last data was analyzed and the potential for Afrocentric public education was evaluated with church based and community based recommendations. This project is narrative and qualitative. It seeks to be a model for Black church-based community organizing and for the revitalization of a traditional Presbyterian congregation.
