Abstrakt

This ministry project endeavored to help family members communicate better with each other; in addition, it provided an opportunity for parish leadership to address possible tensions between the family and their parish church. Techniques used were the pastor's home visits and family dialogue which invited family members to write and share notes on topics they agreed to discuss. The pastor made one home visit before the ceremony of confirmation and the second visit afterwards. The information gleaned from these conversations shed light on the inner life of the families, their systems, traditions, hurts and hopes. As a result of the project the pastor was able to strengthen family ties to the parish in some cases.
