- The dignity of person and protection of rights are intrinsic to the Church. Rights without safeguards are meaningless. The purpose is to provide a concrete and available process for conciliation, arbitration and appeal. The author supplies Scriptural and canonical backgrounds for Alternative Dispute Resolution. The author uses 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 as Scriptural foundation. The author looked at historical incidents which demonstrate the Church's participation in dispute resolution. The result is a policy, adopted by his Diocese by which persons in conflict can resolve their dispute without resorting to civil lawsuits.
