Abstracto

The question of why new church developments (NCDs) encounter growth plateaus is one that Presbyterians, who are interested in organizing new churches, must address. This project focuses on the contribution a Reformed understanding of mission plays in helping NCDs transition from a pastoral-size congregation to a program-size congregation. Utilizing six organizing pastors, this project surveyed how a Reformed understanding of mission assisted six NCDs in this transition. The results showed that a Reformed understanding of mission is a central contributing factor assisting NDCs in the transition from a pastoral-size to program-size congregation.
