- This thesis describes a process of interculturation of faith for the Anishinaabe first nations in Canada. It uses the semiotics of culture to articulate a model of theological reflection appropriate to the Anishinaabe people, using the medicine wheel as the root metaphor for the Anishinaabe worldview. The thesis includes the Anishinaabe historical and cultural context. Based on current missiology and pastoral experience in, and reflection on, the native pastoral seminar in the diocese of Thunder Bay, the resulting praxis explores the integration of Catholic tradition and native spirituality and values within a space conducive to healing, integrity, transformation and reconciliation.
