  • Aware of the common difficulty of attracting people to the traditional Sunday evening service in evangelical churches, I undertook a study of that aspect of the life of the church I pastor, including an inquiry into the preferences and opinions of the present congregation, and evaluation of the church's past record and an analysis of its present needs. A written survey of other pastors was conducted. Through this instrument I sought the experiences and suggestions of those leading similar churches in New Jersey. Armed with this information, I brought several proposals before members of the church's Women's Council and Board, outlining the major emphases of an experimental series of Sunday evening programs, entitled 'Sunday PM'.
