Abstrakt
  • The purpose of this thesis-project is to appropriate lectio divina in the Korean Protestant Church within the framework of Bible reading. For the purpose, first of all, this thesis-project examines the past and present of the Korean Protestant Church. Secondly, this thesis-project explores the spirituality of the Korean Protestant Church and the cultural factors which influenced Christianity in Korea. Thirdly, this thesis-project observes the place of the Bible in the Christian tradition and lectio divina in Guigo II's book, The Ladder of Monks. Fourthly, this thesis-project examines the relationship between lectio divina and non-Christian Korean culture, Korean Protestant spirituality. This thesis-project also suggests both an individual lectio divina and communal lectio divina for the Korean Protestant Church. In conclusion, this thesis-project presents lectio divina as a balanced practice for the Korean Protestant Church in five perspectives.
