  • The fundamental question this dissertation seeks to address is: Why don't most Black men attend church? The surveys revealed that Black men do not attend church because of: poor and irrelevant sermons; lack of a meaningful worship experience; disbelief in God because spiritual values were not emphasized while growing up; and hypocrisy of church members and leaders. Men believe the church can attract men if it nurtures men and has relevant programs.
