Abstracto

The purpose of this project is to highlight the presence of the high teen church dropout rate in North American churches. As local church attendance continues to fall, those whose ages range between nineteen and twenty-nine are more critical in the declining numbers because they represent the next generation of church leaders. The youth departments of selected Baptist churches located in the Oak Cliff Addition of Dallas, Texas, will serve as project participants. The project utilizes a twelve-week discipleship-training curriculum for church members in high school. The candidate proposes that discipleship training for teens before graduation may make a significant impact on the rate of local church members dropping out of local church involvement after high school.
