  • This project explores relationships between clergy leadership styles and financial behaviors. It also tests the use of instrumentations (the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Blake-Mouton Managerial Grid and a Money Behavior Inventory) in the collection and use of data from 10 pastors and 100 laity. The paper includes sections on stewardship theology, leadership theory, research methodology, and data analysis. Conclusions indicate: 1) positive use of instrumentations; 2) the clergy, as a group, tends to function relationally and prefers an orderly and systematic approach to ministry; and 3) that further clergy understanding of monetary stewardship holds great promise for increased effectiveness in ministry.
