- Using qualitative research the author conducted in-depth interviews and surveyed women in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors concerning their experiences of colleague relationships. Research indicated significant experience of positive collegial relationships with male and female peers and supervisors. Women most active in the Association indicated the greatest positive experience and the highest level of concern about collegial issues. Research gathered demographic data and identified historical dynamics about the entrance and increasing participation of women in AAPC. Women indicated the need for a new paradigm for ministry which includes feminine and masculine perspectives on service delivery, supervision and organizational governance.
