Abstrakt

This project demonstrates how the classical model of a spiritual guide can be used as a significant model in Lutheran pastoral care. It is based on the thesis that, through a proper understanding of spiritual guidance, the Lutheran pastor can be greatly helped in guiding individuals in their spiritual journey and formation. Spiritual guidance is presented wtihin the context of contemporary spirituality, showing how it differs from pastoral counseling. Special emphasis is given to Luther's spiritual experience, the sacraments, and inner healing.
