Abstrakt

This thesis contends that the core beliefs of a demoralized people can be transformed through preaching that utilizes trichotomous preaching (pastoral, priestly and prophetic: the three dimensions of God). The parishioner will experience God's love and protective car, will experience God's intervention through forgiveness and instruction in Jesus Christ; will experience hope for the present and the future. Such preaching will be holistic; will use hermeneutical and exegetical principles that allow the preaching to apply to every part of real life so that broken and disenfranchised people are healed and enabled to participate in holistic ministries serving the church and the community at large.
