Abstrakt

This project proposes that an integration of expository preaching and the spiritual disciplines can revitalize preaching while renewing the spiritual life of the preacher. Sermon preparation can be the means to accomplish this integration. Drawing on studies of expository preaching, personal piety, and adult education, the project integrates these disciplines in a seminary course that combines expository preaching with spiritual disciplines through completion of a 'piety and preaching journal'.
