Abstrakt

Numerical church growth and a balanced integral ministry are not mutually exclusive but reciprocally beneficial. Thirty-three Chilean pastors answered questions in personal interviews about their churches, their neighborhooods and their own ministries. Evaluation shows that the following characteristics accompany greater numerical growth: a more balanced integral ministry; a lay training program in personal evangelism; location in a new residential area; location among the middle class; an expressive worship service; more group prayer; and more pastoral time spent on evangelism and preaching.
