  • This project examines expository preaching and its impact as a motivator for involving church members in ministry within the local church. Chapter 1 sets the stage for the project, giving attention to the setting and the background of the church. Chapter 2 and 3 look at the biblical and historical basis for Member Ministry and seek to draw parallels between public speech and preaching. Chapter 3 also examines contemporary expository preachers. Chapter 4 outlines the project itself, and Chapter 5 gives a written analysis of the project's impact upon the focus group and the author's personal reflections. This project contends that expository preaching is and always has been the best motivator for getting God's people involved in His ongoing work.
