  • 'The practice of testimony at the Church of Redeemer, United Church of Christ, New Haven, Connecticut' examines the consistent use of the practice of testimony in a mainline Protestant church over a period of three years. This practice has roots in our denominational history, but is not widely practiced in our chucrhes today. The practice of testimony strengthened lay leadership, fostered more intimate community and transformed the congregational culture. This practice led us to be more aware of other practices of the faith. It revitalized worship, and prompted changes in our liturgical life as well. The project examines the transformation within those who testified and within those who heard testimonies, and concludes that testimony has contributed to the vitality of our Christian community and will continue to do so.
