Abstrakt

The purpose of this project was to develop a program for training leaders and members of African-American church communities in the provision of pastoral care. The program was drawn specifically from traditional American forms of and resources for care. A curriculum was designed for Black pastors to use in religious education programs to help the pastors maintain and expand the extension ministries of their local church. The program and curriculum were presented in a two-day workshop, in which eighteen African-American lay leaders from a local Black church in Landover, Maryland participated.
