Abstrakt

Two churches, one white, and one black, addressing the spiritual roots of racism in church and society, attempt to build a 'community beyond division.' An historical, definitive analysis of the South African-American, while addressing socio-economic manifestations thereof, still condemns the religious justification of some by oppressive societies. A South African-American theology delves into the theological and philospohical debate while addressing the reality of suffering under the benevolence of an omniscient, omnipotent God who created us in His image as full agents of the historical process. The God of Jesus Christ can redeem our violent societies, transforming them into a community beyond division.
