Abstrakt

Based on a case study of his local church's 30-month experience of self-examination, program evaluation and planning, the author developed a manual (included in the report) for use by pastors and congregations. The process involved the same 8-member lay leadership team which had worked with him in the case study experience: a series of congregational studies and forums that grew out of theological reflection by the pastor and the congregation particularly on the shared praxis model (critical reflection and dialogue) of Thomas H Groome. Manual components include procedures and methods for congregational involvement in all phases of the planning process.
