  • The project explores ministry in scripture, ecclesiology, and theology with a view to provide a sound theological basis for the involvement and training of lay persons. In the ecumenical curriculum that is developed, biblical theology sets the norms for pastoral identities, but these are understood to be in dialogue with psychology and contemporary pastoral theology. The skill training included is in the context of seeking growth in the ability to claim deepened identity understandings in clinical encounter. Guided observation, self-assessment, evaluations, and inductive pastoral profile testing -- designed to translate clinical responses into explicit pastoral-theological orientation -- yielded fascinating growth results.
