Abstrakt

This report details ministry in 1976-77 with the elderly homebound members of Our Saviors Church (United Methodist), Mondovi, Wisconsin. It describes a responsible congregational visitation system, an enabling of homebound participation in ministry, and the education of the congregation regarding needs of the target group. Various chapters deal with biblical and theological understandings regarding old age and visitation, an historical survey of contributions of elderly persons to the church, psychological and sociological studies of the elderly, a survey of books and articles in the area of the church and aging, and a step-by-step report of the project itself with critical evaluation.
