  • This project attempted to combine a revival crusade with a strategy developed and implemented through our church evangelism council. The desired results would be a larger number of persons saved and baptized in our church, resulting in church growth. Before the crusade a telephone survey was conducted, with cards and visits. The crusade was a success but the retention was terrible. The people of Antioch Baptist Church worked harder than ever before in evangelism and saw many make professions of faith. However, 95 percent of those who made professions of faith are no longer attending. The conclusion is that while a project of this nature may get people to come and 'walk the aisle,' it does little for church growth and esteem.
