  • In 2006 Northwest Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Columbus, Ohio, established an intentional, non-hierarchical co-pastorate with two ordained ministers. This paper's primary question is: from the perspective of the congregation has this co-pastoral approach to professional ministry been successful in attaining the goals and objectives intended when co-pastors were called to serve the congregation? This work examines the biblical and theological foundations of the professional relationship as well as the initial objectives of the congregation in developing this approach to pastoral leadership. A survey of the congregation was conducted to determine the relative effectiveness of the co-pastoral approach.
