Abstrakt

The hypothesis of this project was that a method could be developed for training deacons to counsel senior adult crime victims. The training program included didactic seminars, counseling sessions, group discussion, case studies, and role play. Experimental and descriptive research methodologies were used with control and experimental groups. Statistically significant growth was measured in the deacons' understanding of senior adult needs, crime's impact on senior adults, and counseling senior adult victims. Significant growth was also observed in the deacons' confidence to counsel senior adult crime victims.
