  • People resist deep commitment to Jesus, approaching the church (if at all) either seeking a purely social setting that places no demands on them, or with a consumer mentality seeking primarily their own satisfaction. This project urged undivided devotion to Jesus that rejects a consumer orientation to church membership. The project employed education and behavior modeling strategies with new and current members to urge deeper, all-encompassing commitment to Jesus through increased, regular involvement in worship, prayer, Bible study, and personal testimony. The author determined that such attitudinal and behavioral changes are long-term projects.
