  • This project is an attempt to incorporate C G Jung's theories of personality type into a doctrine of the church. To a degree, human diversity parallels the diversity between denominations and congregations within the church of Jesus Christ. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Keirsey's Temperament Theory were utilized to explore various groupings within the church to see whether or not distinctions can be noted within the Jungian framework. A number of groups were surveyed and the results were statistically significant. In terms of the doctrine of the church, the parallels between the individual in Jungian psychology and units of the church begin to break down when pushed too far. There is a strong positive correlation between Keirsey's temperaments and the way the church has been experienced by numerous modern authors.
