  • The question is, 'To what extent does preaching shape the missional epistemology of new church developments?' This project surveys nine new church developments in various stages of congregational development. With so many techniques available for establishing new churches, the function and efficacy of preaching and its impact on the character development of new churches is examined. An online survey filled out by pastors and lay leadership sought to determine the perceived relationship between preaching and certain missional practices in the new churches. The survey used research by the Gospel and Our Culture Network to determine the 'Empirical Indicators of a 'Missional Church'.'
