Abstrakt

This project explores the need for preaching pastors to understand the biblical mandate to preach expository sermons that are relevant to teenaged listeners. Hundreds of teenagers were surveyed in an attempt to clarify the aspects of preaching that they find most effective. The research concludes that teenagers are extremely interested in the content and delivery of sermons, preached in the context of the communal worship service in the local church. If the church has any hope of retaining present-day teenagers, it is imperative that the sermon be perceived by the students as relevant and effective.
