Abstrakt

This project was implemented to help the pastor better address the problems of attenders at Mannford United Methodist Church through sermons. The plan included: identifying personal problems among attenders through an initial churchwide survey; addressing the problems in six sermons; evaluating the success of the attempt to address the problems by means of a weekly written survey, a sermon discussion group, and a second churchwide survey. A slight improvement in addressing problems through sermons was made. More improvement was noted in relevance than in effectiveness. The project also located elements in sermons which needed continued improvement.
