  • Crestfield, a Presbyterian Church (United States of America) affiliated camp and conference center, implemented a nine-month intentional residential community ministry, Confluence, for emerging adults aged eighteen to twenty-four years. This pilot study (n=4) explored the effectiveness of its curriculum on spiritual growth, vocational discernment, and the use of spiritual practices. The curriculum included book studies, mission outreach, and the spiritual practices of prayer, Scripture reading, silence, and shared work like the Taizé community. Quantitative and qualitative data was collected at baseline, mid-point, and endpoint. The results demonstrated a successful adaptive change that positively impacted the spiritual growth indices of the group and participants.
