Hayes argues that collaborative, regional preaching teams, consisting of both lay and ordained preachers, can provide effective ongoing preacher formation within a diocese. To support the thesis, the author used the following methodology: (1) Critical study of literature; (2) Critical reflection on personal experience; (3) Shared wisdom in establishing the first small group, requesting the input of the members at all stages: design, implementation, and evaluation; (4) Focus groups; (5) Phone interviews; (6) Evaluation instrument (Delphi Technique). The methodology led to the conclusion that the educational model is effective, though it requires ongoing evaluation and adaptation within the collaborative preaching teams.
