Abstrakt

The thesis presents details of the church growth program at Holy Cross (a Lutheran church in Kansas City) and its positives and negatives for the congregation so that the experience might benefit others. The writer led the laity in a church growth analysis of the ministry setting which pinpointed a need for outreach. The thesis describes the implementing, administering, and evaluating of an effective outreach program at Holy Cross enabled by the ministry of others. Despite some of the movement's uncertain theological sounds, the dissertation concludes that the relatively young church growth movement can benefit the church.
