  • Separation between worship and education has developed because of clergy roles, little lay participation, and division of the affective and cognitive. A holistic approach to worship and education can provide a community of shared memory for an individualistic society. The worship education models for John Westerhoff, Robert Browning and Roy Reed are examined and critiqued in light of a Reformed theological and historical understanding. Expressional practical is developed as a Reformed model of worship and education which joins participation, symbol, reflection, and formation. Options for implementation are offered. An eleven-week course in worship for adults is included.
