Abstrakt

This study is an attempt to formulate a coherent statement about the role of women in the Orthodox Church, especially with regard to the restoration of the ancient female diaconate and its contribution to the definition of that role. The study discusses the historical nature of the female diaconate, its decline, its function, and strategies for its restoration.
