  • The disciplines of psychology and education have utilized roleplay effectively, and there is significant biblical literature which illustrates some of the positive facets of roleplay. Consequently, it is the author's contention that roleplay ought to be used more frequently in the pastoral theology classroom. The proposed model portrays counseling, administrative, visitation, pulpit, and personal situations encountered by today's pastors. It includes the following features: preparatory notes, the actual roleplay, a peer evaluation, a follow-up discussion, a self-evaluation, and the teacher's evaluation. Extensive use of the model revealed the fact that learning was enhanced.
