Abstrakt

This project proposes to initiate spiritual growth in a local Methodist congregation through 13 weeks of sermons, liturgical and sacramental actions, and classroom teaching and discussion about John Wesley's theology of the sacraments and participation in these 'means of grace.' Such an intensive approach increases sacramental knowledge and appreciation of the sacraments in the congregation, but it is only a beginning. Study and practice of the sacraments must continue toward true spiritual maturity.
